Can soybeans really treat cancer?

The soybeans come from Asia and in Europe
they appeared at the end of the 18th century. In  countries such as Japan, where soy is the base for all kinds of food, it seems that the risk of cancer and heart disease is lower than,
other countries in Europe, where people don't usualy use soybeans.
Scientists from the
University of Milano, Helsinki, Michigan, as well
as from the Medical Center of Stanford University, California, studied the soybeans and they
got to the fact that soy, used everyday, helps preventing and treating
breast cancer
lung cancer and heart disease.

This also was the conclusion of almost 100 scientists that took part in the third
International Symposium about
"Soy, preventing and treating chronical diseases.", in Washington, 1999.
